Psychiatric Evaluations

New patient psychiatric assessments are 90 minutes long and involve a comprehensive review of the patient’s psychiatric, medical, surgical, social, family and medication histories.

A full assessment of the patient’s clinical needs are evaluated and a proposed treatment plan is discussed at the time of service. This evaluation is focused, comprehensive and highly personalized. It involves shared decision making between us as a team to best align my clinical recommendations with the patient’s goals for treatment.

Psychopharmacology

Medication management appointments are typically 30 minutes long and are available for established patients and families only. These appointments involve a review of the patient’s recent history as well as a review of each prescribed medication’s efficacy and tolerability.

Recently established patients typically require more frequent appointments at the beginning while we work on developing a treatment plan that best meets the patient’s needs. Once target symptoms have improved, follow up appointments are typically every one to three months.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy appointments are either 30 or 45 minutes long and are available for established patients only. These appointments can be combined with medication management for patient’s requiring or preferring combined treatment. Psychotherapy appointments are typically scheduled either weekly or every other week.

These appointments involve individual psychotherapy with therapeutic techniques that may include psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, trauma-informed therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy or a combination of multiple therapeutic modalities depending on the individual patient’s needs.
